Barchamped LLC provides a local venue-discovery application that helps adults find places to dine, dance, and enjoy local experiences.
Information We Process
- Foreground location, when you allow it, to sort and retrieve nearby venues. Your device may provide approximate or precise coordinates, depending on your permission settings. We send the search coordinates to our venue-search service and Google Places to retrieve results. We do not request background location or display your location to other users. You can also search for a destination.
- A pseudonymous account identifier and the display name you choose. Business sign-in uses the business account email address; business applications include the contact details you submit.
- Ratings, reviews, venue recommendations, event submissions and uploaded flyers or images, content reports, and blocked-user choices needed to provide the service. Saved places and events are stored on your device; saving a sponsored event may also create a sponsored-interaction record.
- Voluntary outing confirmations linked to your pseudonymous account, including the venue, the category you select, and the recording date, together with earned milestone badges and one-time point awards. These records are private and self-reported; they do not verify attendance or require location permission.
- Basic technical logs used for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
- Interactions with sponsored placements, such as an impression, open, save, or directions request, recorded with your account identifier to measure contextual venue and event promotions.
How We Use Information
We use this information to show nearby venues and events, publish community ratings and recommendations, personalize saved places, calculate and display optional outing milestones and one-time awards, measure clearly labeled contextual promotions, moderate user-generated content, prevent abuse, and maintain the app.
Private Outings And Milestones
Choosing I Went records an outing only after you confirm it and choose a category. Your private outing history is not displayed to other users or provided to venues. You can undo an outing in the app; doing so updates milestones that depend on it. If you choose to share an earned badge through your device, the shared message contains the achievement rather than your venue history. The app or service you select for sharing handles that message under its own privacy practices. Milestone points have no cash value. Standard profiles use anonymous sign-in; reinstalling the app or changing phones may cause you to lose access to the existing profile and milestones.
Business Membership Applications
When you apply for the business membership pilot, we collect your business name, contact name, email, city, optional website, stated goal, and permission to contact you. We use these details to review your application and follow up. Applications and internal review notes are stored in Supabase and accessible to authorized administrators. We retain an application reference and a protected hash of the request network address to limit duplicate submissions and abuse. Applying does not create a paid membership or subscribe you to unrelated marketing. To withdraw an application or request deletion, contact hello@barchamped.com. We retain applications while needed for the pilot and follow-up, subject to any legal or security retention requirements.
Service Providers
We may use Supabase for authentication and data storage, Google Places Platform for venue discovery, Expo for application build and delivery services, Google Play for Android distribution, and Apple for TestFlight testing and App Store distribution. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.
Sharing
We do not sell precise location information or use an advertising identifier in this release. Sponsored interactions are not combined with your activity from other companies’ apps or websites for cross-company advertising tracking. Businesses may receive aggregate performance information about sponsored placements; they do not receive a user's precise location or private profile information. Public reviews display the chosen display name, rating, visit details, and review text. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transfer.
Retention And Deletion
We retain community activity while it is needed to operate and moderate the service. We retain private outing confirmations and milestone awards while needed to provide the feature. Account deletion removes these records and awards. Users can delete their Barchamped account and associated activity from the Profile tab or by following the steps on our account deletion page. Legal, fraud-prevention, or security records may be retained when reasonably necessary.
Children
Barchamped is not intended for children. Users must be at least 18 years old.
Security
We use access controls and reasonable technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
